Below is an actual email I received through my blog last week. I thought it was pretty funny, but decided to use it as a chance to let other Greens get to know me better. These are the actual questions I was sent (a sense of humor is mandatory w/ this job, sometimes...), so here is my shot at a reply, hope you like it Jen! - CB

Dear Mr. Bennett, we are delighted to have you as our interim Leader. My friends and I think you're doing a great job speaking for our party. We wanted to ask you some personal questions since none of us know that much about you since Adrian Carr left and we were talking about it at a meeting last night. Keep up the great work and thanks for being just the kind of ambassador this party needs going into the next election. Some of our questions are dumb, we know, but hopefully you will answer all of them.

Here are some questions from myself and some friends:
1. Boxers or Briefs?
The Truth could come back to haunt me one day, I'll have to pass on this one.
2. Which US Democrat would you most identify with going into the primaries? Obama, Clinton? Which Canadian Politician do you most admire?
Neither - Gov. Bill Richardson (US Democrat) and my fav politician from Canada would be former Dep. PM John Manley.
3. How old are you REALLY? (I've heard everything from 21 to 35)
I am neither of those two ages. You're getting warmer, though!
4. I heard a rumor you have 7 sisters, is this true?
Not true. I have 4 little sisters.
5. Are you on Facebook, we can't seem to find you?
Yes, I am. Feel free to add me to your friends list, I love to meet new people.
6. Why did you decide to become a Green?
I was becoming increasingly less connected the the Liberal party, and couldn't get a clear sense of what it was fighting for. Then I met Elizabeth May and got the chance to work on her campaign. I've been active ever since.
7. Who is your Green Hero?
I have two: Green Arrow and Adrian Carr.
8. Are you married, we heard you were. Is it serious :)
Yes, I was just married about 7 months ago in fact. It's pretty serious, but thanks for asking!
9. Where will you run in the next election?
I am planning to announce that on October 21st. Stay tuned.
10. Which declared leadership candidate would you most like to see replace you in October?
Not sure if I should answer that, as I need to remain neutral and impartial. We have some great candidates that have come forward - I'd be happy with any number of them, honestly. I'm sure you will hate that answer!
11. Are you the same Chris Bennett from the Marijuana party? If so, did you ever inhale :)
No relation whatsoever. Glad you asked -- it bugs me that he has the same name as me, as I get asked that question all the time. It's not me, I've never met him, and what I do at 4:20 is my business, no one else's!
12. What is your most embarrassing moment?
Truthfully, that is a tough one to answer. Okay, I'll be honest: At a Green party once, at David Suzuki's house, I asked his wife where the BBQ and Hot Dogs were. I didn't realize that EVERYONE was vegan, except me!
13. What kind of music do you listen to?
Oasis, Foo Fighers and The Beastie Boys. A little U2 is always good, too.
14. If you had the power to enact one environmental law, what would it be?
Good question, Hmm........ I would probably work to ratify Kyoto targets asap. First in BC, and then across all of Canada. We have to make that happen. it's really important.
15. Why should Greens vote for you, what makes you fit to lead us?
I'll answer that question on October 21st as well. In the meantime, learn as much as you can about our leadership candidates, it's their ideas and their leadership that will guide us through the next year, come October.

Like a breath of fresh air, I feel rejuvenated, refreshed and ready to take on the day.

I would like to see more content about what Chris envisions for the party, both with respect to internal issues and to policy/governance. Kyoto is a start - but we are going to have to a lot better than that...
Also, where does he stand on the 10KV and 4 pillars - which does he most identify with (and why).
Finally, I am glad to see the Green Arrow get some recognition - but the Green Arrow was a law breaker if ever there was one... What do you think about that Chris? Care to adjudicate on the Green Arrow?
I have to walk a cautious line in terms of what I want the party to do, and what they will do. Bear in mind, I'm the interim leader and don't want to hamstring the next leader with too many promises or strategic moves in any particular direction. I recommend you explore all candidates currently running.
I STRONGLY support the 4 Pillars program.
As for the Green Arrow, law-breaker or not, he's just awesome. Totally awesome.
this was hilarious. All party leaders should have to answer interview questions like this....I Love it!
Good to know all Greens are vegan! Ha ha! I love a good steak too, don't tell!
Mr Interim Leader, please try to make more of an effort to not sound like a moronic spoiled frat boy in your responses. Say something that is intelligent in your comments and that reflects at least some green values.
Sincerely,
Greens
Mr. Green is a poopy-pants. Frat boys are cute!
Don't let the 'greens' slow you down Mr. B, you're doin' a killer job. We heard the news about next week. WOW! Well done. Greens are lucky to have you!
I think you may be the best candidate I've learned of or ever met to lead the Green Party. I sincerely think you should consider it. I know one of your biggest goals - and this is a great first step towards it.
Cameron
This is lame, but not as lame as the other two party leaders. All of you should get real.
With all due respect to Mr. Green, Chris is only 29 and should be excused for being immature and clueless. Please get back into the oven, bake a little longer, and return once you've figured out that John Manley works for forces far greater and elitist than mere Canadians.
More simply put, escape the Matrix and get a grip man. If you really want to move this party forward, study the Green Book and get a better understanding of its principles.
